Senatorial Scholarships

Dear Scholarship Applicant:
I am pleased that you plan to attend a college in Maryland. The application is available below in Adobe Acrobat format.
The Senatorial Scholarship is one of the financial aid programs offered by the State. For more information on Maryland Higher Education Commission's (MHEC) scholarships, loans and grants, click here: State Financial Aid Programs.
The District 17 Senate application process uses a community-based committee to select the students who will be awarded scholarships. Criteria include financial need, academic performance, community services and family responsibilities.
To apply for a District 17 Senate Scholarship, you must:
Reside in Legislative District 17. Confirm your address here: http://mdelect.net.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov or contact your guidance counselor or financial aid office to get the form.
Attend an approved institution in Maryland or, get written permission from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to attend an out-of-state program.
Complete the Senate Scholarship Application Form (download form here).
Be enrolled for at least six credit hours per semester
