Dear Friends:
This month, I kicked off my campaign for re-election as your State Senator for Gaithersburg, Rockville and Garrett Park with a fundraiser held in Rockville Town Center.

More than 200 friends showed up at the VisArts Center to show their support.
It was truly gratifying to see so many of the people I have worked with over the years and to know that they will be joining with me and the entire District 17 Team:
Delegate Jim Gilchrist,
Delegate Kumar Barve, and
Delegate Luiz Simmons in this endeavor.
Senate President Mike Miller spent the evening with us as well. Hear what he had to say.
Over my time in office, I have continuously delivered results for my constituents whether it was pushing through local transportation solutions, bringing high-paying jobs to the area through support of the biotech industry, making our homes safer with stronger laws to deter criminals, or gaining funding for local projects.
Just this year, I was lead Senate sponsor for a package of bills that created some of the toughest drunk driving laws to date. I also introduced legislation that helped secure $1.5 billion in Federal funds for METRO over the next ten years.
But there is more work to do as our State navigates one of the worst national economic climates in 70 years.
In my next term, I plan to continue to bring my energy, experience and determination to resolving the critical issues we face -- the mortgage crisis, traffic congestion, energy costs, and keeping our neighborhoods safe. And I will need your help.

With your assistance, I can keep working hard for you and ensure that you have a voice in Annapolis. Thank you.
